Happy Schools Training of teachers August 2018

From August 2nd to 7th, the Peaceful Bamboo Family (Tinh Truc Gia, TTG) hosted the first cohort of over 120 teachers from public schools from the province of Hue for the first module of the Happy Schools training programme. This training marked the beginning of the third phase of the project, where the objective was to enable teachers from Hue public schools to start implementing the Happy Schools Curriculum in their classrooms.

The intensive 6-day training covering both Self Care and Caring for others and Society included regular Mindfulness as well as Social and Emotional Learning theory and practice.The training was delivered collaboratively by members of the ELI Vietnam team, a team of lecturers from Hue University, members of the ALL (Authentic Live and Learn) team, and trainers from the April training.

Trainers from the April training led sub-group reflection sessions each afternoon, so as to find skillful ways to implement the curriculum in their classrooms, adapting the contents according to each age group.
